What Our Interns Say

“There is a purpose behind everything empirical wants you to do as an intern. I worked with production, I did my own research, I set up my own projects, I traveled with sales to meet customers. It wasn’t the same thing everyday and it wasn’t one project for the whole summer. It’s grown me and it’s really cool for me to build upon that now.”

- Nevada, Former Intern / Management Trainee

“I did not expect to have such an impact. I was able to work on projects relevant to my degree that also benefitted the plant. Interning at empirical, feeling valued, and getting experience was validating and I could see what the future would be like if I was working there.”

- Madelynne, Intern

“When I was 19 I started an internship with empirical in the Operations Center. About 6 months through, I noticed there was only a couple people working in the graphics department and I was really interested in that area. I started to learn on job and six months later, they offered me a full-time job. I’ve been working in that department for 14 years now. It’s been an incredible journey.”

- Ben, Former Intern / Control Graphics Programmer

“Through my internship at empirical, I was able to see my education and training come to life. The experience of working alongside interns, plant employees, and engineers allowed me to develop a well-rounded understanding of a highly efficient manufacturing environment. I am thankful that empirical allowed me to grow by trusting me with experiments and projects that have a direct effect on the company.”

- Ellen , Former Operations Intern

“I came into this job knowing very little about the food industry, but empirical was extremely supportive of my learning and growing as an employee. empirical’s people are their strongest asset and always will be, and I was happy to be a part of it.”

- Malory, Former Operations Intern

“This internship was a great way to get my feet wet in social media content creation and management. Being able to see all the moving parts of social media and communications for external marketing of the company was really cool. empirical has some amazing people and being able to capture how awesome they are has really pushed me forward in my career.”

- RuthAnn, Former Social Media Intern

“I love this company because we are constantly updating the processes. I always have something cool to work on. empirical makes a point for you as an intern to be a big part of the company.”

- Luke, Former Software Engineering Intern

“This internship was a good environment to learn a lot more about the design process and gave me a deeper understanding of the machinery I’m creating. It was a refreshing challenge, but I was well supported and got to work with others who are just as passionate about the job as me.”

- Grant, Former Design Engineering Intern

“This internship was a great fit for me. I got the ability to work with programs that I will need for my career such as Power BI and SQL. I got to collaborate with different departments and be seen as someone more than just an intern. I was important to the company and given room to grow and learn.”

- Patrick, Former Software Engineering Intern

“This internship was a steppingstone for me to see how, as an engineer, the decisions I make affect the machinists. The hands-on environment, space, ideology, and people at empirical were a large part of my success. empirical invests in your progress as an employee and doesn’t cut corners on the organization and the way it operates.”

- Caden, Former Machinist Intern

“I got to see how what I do affects the business daily, and the opportunity to explore more testing and do more hands-on projects. I really enjoyed how many people I got to collaborate with and work under to help with continuous improvement efforts. One thing that I can’t stress enough about empirical is how welcome they have made me feel as an intern and an employee.”

- Skyler, Former Operations Intern

“This internship offered me a front row seat to the different ways that empirical communicates with its employees. It was cool to be relied on by every department and learn about creating graphics and adding posts on internal apps.”

- Emily, Former Communications Intern
